Cosmetic and other "product" testing = WRONG
Medical testing = necessary
Animals testing benefits more than humans. It benefits animals also!! If you have gotten vaccines, wormer, medication or surgery for any pets, you have animal testing to thank. Without it, there would be none of these things. It is a necessary evil.
I expect that all you people against animal testing go out of your way to NOT support it in any way. Like NEVER getting medical care for YOUR pets. And not ever taking so much as a aspirin yourself. No surgery for you ever. No pre-natal care if you get pregnant. No birth control. NOTHING!!!!! Otherwise, you are just GIANT hypocrites!!!!

"Unseen they suffer"
They ARE seen - by staff, inspectors etc.
Not all animals suffer, especially not to the extent the anti-vivs tell you.
"Unheard they cry"
Not true....
"In agony they linger"
Many receive anaesthetics or analgesics. Many experiments are not painful. There are "humane end points" where anmials must be euthanased if they start to suffer.
"In lonliness they die"
Most are socially housed, and will be humanely euthanased by staff who care about them.
I'm sorry, but most anti-testing sites are inaccurate.
Animal reearch is still vitally necessary for medical and veterinary research - to save both human and animal lives!
We do not (yet) have the technology to completely replace animals in testing.
If we banned it now we would cripple medical research. Scientists are developing alternative methods, and some types of animal test have already been replaced.
Scientists do not WANT to test on animals, and alternative methods would be cheaper and easier.
Contrary to popular belief most animal technicians (the ones who look after the animals and sometimes perform the procedures) love animals and do their absolute best to improve the lives of animals in their care.
Labs are getting better at providing the animals with what they need for good welfare. Rabbits are now often housed socially in pens, monkeys in open rooms, etc. They get nesting materials and toys etc.
I can't comment much on testing in the USA, but I do know what it is like in the UK. And I can tell you for certain that most of the stuff on the anti-testing sites is bullsh*t!

Be sure to look at the "animal house" section for good video footage.

Sorry, but I think that some animal testing is needed. If you can't see it being needed for humans, fine, I can understand that. But what about animal testing to help other animals? Animal testing is the reason for all of the meds on the market to treat various animal illnesses and diseases. Animal testing has helped advance the veterinary field in so many ways. If it weren't for animal testing, our pets would probably die much earlier because vets wouldn't know what they know now. They wouldn't know how to treat different illnesses, they wouldn't even know certain diseases existed let alone how to treat it. Has your pet ever had some type of surgery or received some type of medicine that saved its life? If so, you have animal testing to thank for that.
As for animal testing of medical treatments for humans, well, I think that's necessary, too. Animal testing has provided us with treatments for cancer, AIDS, neurological diseases, small pox, anthrax, diabetes, liver and heart disease, genetics, spiral cord injuries, strokes, organ transplants, insulin discovery, polio prevention, etc. If you've ever taken any kind of prescription drug, you have supported animal testing. If you're taking something right now, you're supporting it. I definitely feel that any animal being used for testing should be treated as humanely as possible and should be taken care of as best is possible. And I do not agree with unecessary animal testing for things like cosmetics and cosmetical procedures or these people that do things that physically harms an animal just so they can see what would happen.
I'm not trying to be rude but to all of you that so strongly oppose animal testing, why not donate yourself to the medical field to save an animal from being tested on. How many of you would actually do it? And remember, saying you'll do it and actually doing it are two different things. People have the option of saying yes or no, most say no, so if we end animal testing and no humans volunteer for it, then what are we supposed to do? Some may say to use criminals on death row or that are in prison for life, I agree with doing that, but what do we do when they're all gone and we still have more testing to be done?

I didn't look at the site, but I can say with certainty that until you are willing to give up ALL of your daily necesseties, you should not preach. Of course I don't like the idea of anything suffering, but you have to be realistic, instead of hypocritical.
You must give up all cleaning supplies (lysol, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish liquid, etc etc)
You must give up all vanity,,(hairspray,deoderant,perfume,make-up,face cleanser etc)
You must give up all medications and surgeries (tylenol, prescription antibiotics, cancer treatments, etc)
You must give up personal convenience items,,,(birth control, nair hair removal, tanning oil, and so on and so forth)
XX Giving up meat is fine, but only a drop in the bucket.
Are you will to give all of this up? Oh Yeah! You must never get vaccines for yourself or you pets, and never take you pet to the vet for medication or life saving surgery either. Until all of this stops, animal testing will continue.
Not many people are willing or able to give all of this up, so make sure you are willing to do these things, before trashing the methods that make all of these products available for you to use.
Somehow I don't think you'll stop washing with soap, or you'll start wearing dirty clothes and stinking every day.
To the ones who say 'buy non animal tested soaps' There is not such thing. The finished product that you are buying was not tested on animals sure. The dyes, fragrances, and individual ingredients in these products were tested on animals, before they were put together into the finished product. So although the finished shampoo wasn't put on an animal, the ingredients were before being put into the shampoo.

Animal testing is STICTLY CRUUUUUUUUUEL!!!!! I think I will ask my principal (at my school) if we can start clubs. And I'll start one saying "Against Animal Testing". I'm pretty sure I could get ALOT of people for that club. But you know what maybe they should just test on humans. They use eyeshadow on Rabbits which make them go blind. And lip stick on monkeys which is just CRUEL/SCARY!!!!!!!!!! Heck! I might just go to school tomorrow and go up to her and ask her if we can start making clubs. It would be pretty cool. And I did go do that thing.
