when a girl first gets it they may not know. sometimes a day before a girl gets her 1st period she may have a dark red discharge or maybe even little cramps but this is only for some girls. once a girl has her period it's very easy to know when it's coming next. for the 1st year or two of a girls period it's hard to know because sometimes it's not always on the exact date u thought it would be. the longer a girl has her period the easier it is to guess when the next one will be. stress can delay it sometimes. also some girls may feel gases or sad or tired or grumpy or real ly thirsty a few weeks before they get their period but once again this is only some people. every girl/women's period is different and i heard somewhere so don't take this to be fact but i heard that every 11 years the cycle changes in some way like a girl who once got it at the beginning of the month after a 11 years might get it the last week of the month or one who never got cramps before after 11 years may start to get cramps. a period comes about every 28 days after the last but this is never exact. for example if a girl's last period was over on nov 3 her next period should start on dec 1 or sometimes that week maybe not on dec 1 but a week or a few days with in that date. btw i would like to add that not everyone gets cramps. its been over a little over 5 years since i got my 1st period and i would like to point out that w/ in them 5 years iv only had cramps maybe 2 or 3 times.

The answer will vary somewhat with each woman. With me it was 1. It's been about a month, 2. I'm getting that crampy sensation, 3. I'm a moody witch and 4. I'm strangely, and I'll say this gently...in the mood.

Funny question, my husband already knows when someones period is coming or if they have it.
Mood Swings
Cramping (they always holding their stomache, because they just feel a bad cramping)
Bad Mood
Always Touching their Butt (to make sure blood didn't seek out)
Lol. Hopefully this answered your question. =)

See above answers, but - many of us know when it's due, within a few days [ without hormones, mine ranged from 28 to 31 days ].
But for others, it's a surprise every time! Sometimes we go to the bathroom, just to check, even if we don't have to 'go'.

Well.. its on a cycle. Also before it comes we get moody and break out and crave salt and sugar. Sometimes we feel a little cramp on our side. Sometimes we have bad cramps the day before, usually we get pretty bloated... we just know!

We just know our bodies. But to answer your question Some women have symptoms around the time of menstruation, that include and it happens around the same days EVERY month.
Cramping, and sore breasts
Mood swings and irritability
Headache and fatigue
But its different in all women.

It comes around the same time every month. Also, some women get cramps, whitish-yellowish vaginal fluid in their underwear, headaches, tired, or cranky before or during the first days of their period.
