Take the square root of the product of the squares of the numbers (ignoring the "i" in the second term). This is a simple application of the Pythagorean Theorem. Next, take the inverse tangent of the real term divided by the imaginary term to find theta. Since both terms have a magnitude of 3, theta will be some variant of 45 degrees. In this example it is to the right of the Y axis and below the X axis (which I think is called the fourth quadrant). My calculator has R to P and P to R functions, with an arrow function that allows two numbers to be input and two numbers to be output. You might try a graphing calculator to see the angle.
