Is it actually possible to to make a flea circus? How would one go about it??

Hi if anyone knows of any reported flea circus' (circies(?) or of any advice web pages or sources that would help someone to attempt such a meticulous activity it would be greatly appreciated if they could pass this info onto me. Are there certain tools, are the fleas frozen to be kept alive? is a flea circus one that comprises of dead or alive fleas?? any help

In the 1950s while I was in the navy our ship made a visit to Lisbon Portugal where they had a park with all kinds of attractions and rides. One thing I remember is a flea circus. A gentleman had a small table set up in a tent that had several other attractions in it. He would remove a flea (which had a wire connected to him with a small colored feather on one end) and describe what the flea was trained to do. One he had walking a tight rope. The flea was so small we could barely see him but we could see the feather move from one end of the small tight rope to the other, not always staying on the top. One he said would take his girlfriend on a tricycle ride. He sat one flea on the seat and the other he put on the trike's front wheel. When the flea on the wheel walked it made the wheel turn and the trike rolled across the table. He had wagon races and one flea he said juggled. The juggling flea he connected to a stand somehow and placed a small colored bead on his feet and the flea would toss it up several inches. Of course he didn't catch it when it came down.

i dont think they use fleas at all
i think it was an illusion to pretend there were fleas viewed from a distance
