It's really all down to the general dumbing down of politics on the BBC that has taken place in the last ten years under this Labour government. They made sure they got rid of Greg Dyke because he had the cahoons to stand up to Labour's sexed-up dossier and they've been running the show ever since. I agree with you completely.

The panel are just a cross section of societies politicians, journalists, sports persons, celebrities and other people who have opinions on and some connection with the topics of the day. I don't think the intelligence of the panel is important but rather their opinion and that is maybe what people are interested in. If it were just random unknown members of society on the panel people may be less likely to watch. And I'm sure a lot of the time the people on the panel are actually very intelligent and knowledgeable.

Well, I'm a foreigner and quite like to watch it, so l don't think it is patronising, of course there is opinions that you agree and some that you don't, maybe it is not the best example to practise democracy, but it is a start at least!

You've got that right....if government ministers listened to the public instead of trying to find their own visions with only two brain cells we would now be in a land of milk and honey.

No more than the rest of British television. One time it was a hit or miss if you find something of quality.
Now it's only miss.
There's only the internet to get a little balance.

I agree with Elvis but I think that it is less patronising than Newsnight. Christ imagine being grilled by Paxman.

Yup, it is. The panelists are sneeringly unaware of the everyday experiences of ordinary British people.

I used to watch but don't anymore. If anybody strongly disagrees they are thrown out, so if that's bias then yes it's biased.

questioning is not time consuming.
It is the answering which is consuming time, intelligence, knowledge, and wit.
further time consuming is ,reading all the spectra of answers.
