I am about 3 weeks late and no signs of starting. I took an EPT test around 8:30 at night and waited about 10 minutes but it was negative any tips? My husband thinks we should do another test but I am not sure what the best kind is. Could I be pregnant?

Take the test in the morning with your first morning urine, when the hcg hormone would be at its most concentrated. The brand really doesn't make much of a difference. Dollar store tests work just fine.

If you keep testing negative and still no period, see a doctor for a blood test and an exam. Things other than pregnancy can cause a missed period and it's always better to get it checked out.

Good luck.

Try clear blue easy...the digital and it will say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". At about three weeks, a test would show up positive by now because of the level of hcg you should have if you are. And you can read the results three minutes after, usually even earlier.

Also, take it in the morning with the first urine. If this one is negative, then I would say that no, you are not pregnant. You might want to make an appt with the doctor anyway to see why you haven't started your period. Or if its positive, then you'll still have to make the appt!

We tried for 15 months and I tested like crazy, up to 7 days before my period. It's a waste of money as even if you are the hormone isn't strong enough for even the ones that "claim" you can test 3 days before. I tested 3 days past my period due date and my line was very very faint. I used First Response, but Clear Blue is good too. Test first thing in the AM too, your hormone is stronger.

He may be right. The best time to take a test is early morning, and it doesn't really matter what the brand is. I've gotten perfectly accurate results using Dollar General tests with my last two pregnancies.

It's possible your missed period could be caused by something else, but before going to the doctor, I would try waiting a few days or a week, and then testing once more in early morning.

All the best to you!

Any tests are fine, and any time of the day is ok to take it. I took a preggy test twice, both at night before I went to bed...the Hcg levels are present if you're pregnant, no matter what time of day it is...although the hormones will be more concentrated in your urine early in the morning.

the most accurate results will come from a blood test. But if you want comparisons on pregnancy tests go to www.peeonastick.com . They charted different tests, results, and updates. pretty cool web cite
