80 Million Africans, last year. When we have no real threat of Polio. I have never seen an outbreak of Polio in Africa? Jumping off the FDA question.

I have never been to Africa, but I have understood that the polio outbreak there is a great threat. Many people are not able to get the necessary vaccines that would eradicate this horrible disease.

Because polio, measles and other childhood diseases have been eradicated In many parts of of the world, in Africa, it is a common illness as their children were not immunized. American Red Cross started the Measles Initiative to eradicate this illness, for $1 you can save a life. Last year,Malaria no More was instituted where by, netting is distributed with a pesticide killing the mosquito's that cause malaria thereby saving lives of children and their families. Malaria kills more children than any other cause.

best thing that could happen i would hate to think if polio once again was allow to develop and spread across the world -- it could be worst that the flu problem in the early part of the last century!!!

They must have thought there could be a reoccurence of the disease . Some diseases we thought were gone are cropping up again.
