We read that the Spanish Metodo 3 detective agency is being paid by the McCanns approximately £50,000 a 'sighting' (Portugal x2, Morrocco x2, Spain, Eastern Europe = £300,000) not to find Madeleine McCann.

This whole thing disgusts me .They will never find Maddy and the McCanns know it. How they can blatantly sit there and fritter away someone else's money on wild goose chases just in order to divert attention away from themselves from day one is despicable.If nothing else they should be charged with neglect. We are all banging on about dna tests and evidence linking them to Maddy's disappearance but why don't the PJ take the easy way out now (after today's meeting) and charge them with neglect .This is 100% proven.

You know according to sky news yesterday Metodo 3 were being paid £750,000 for their 6 month stint. The breakdown was £2000 a day & travel , expenses etc on top so the fact the Mccanns are getting it for £300,000 is a bit of a bargain. But as far as i'm concerned it's money well spent. I would sleep with anybody or sell my soul for the money to find my daughter if she was missing & also pay the PI's that had the best record for finding lost children. Are they mercenaries? Who gives a **** if they find my little girl! The Mccanns have been lucky a lot of people want Madeleine back safe & sound & their financial support was all they could offer at the time when this case touched so many hearts. The Mccanns need to use that money now in efforts to find Maddie no matter what the hell the money is spent on. That couple must need financial assistance so why donate then complain every 2 minutes about what they are spending it on? Did you donate to the fund? Somehow I think not. We are all forgetting the main objective here - that beautiful little girl. God Bless her where ever she is now. Can people stop being so nasty? The Mccanns are suspects but this is natural in a case like this - In Britain they would have been suspects from day 1! We still have to keep trying & give them the benefit of the doubt?

Michael - I think you may have the syntax of this Q wrong, i.e. the detective agency is being paid on a per sighting basis, rather than a fee for finding her (the judicious use of a comma helps!!)
Who do you think is behind this story? The McCanns? If so, it's hardly doing their cause any good. The detective agency?? The allegations could lose them a lucrative deal... or is the media once again jumping on a non-story??
As an ex-journalist, I highly favour the last statement!

What they mean is, it is working out, 50k per sighting.
That is NOT in the contract
"The fund shall pay Metodo 3 £50,000 every time they report a sighting"
Nothing to do with you how Dickie invests is it? Nor is it in the Publics interest. He is a PRIVATE Businessman.

Wow... the amount of money involved in all this.
I live in fear, literally, for the safety of my kids after the Madeleine case.
I can only say this... if the McCanns are innocent, God bless them but if they are guilty.... God damn them. What I know is that this Madeleine saga is already beginning to haunt me. I can not any longer look at little Madeleine's photograph without feeling anguish.... where can she possibly be ?!

I think Condoning Richard should stick with the McConn's.... His future will be made and he won't have to do much to see the money rolling in... How the McCann's sleep at night is beyond me but I hope the very thing they tried to hide, which was vital in the early stages of the case, Madeleine's unusual eye, will haunt them when they least expect it.......

If your company is receiving £50000 a month to find a missing girl, who could be absolutely anywhere in the world, or even dead, surely it would be in your best interests to report a sighting or two, this will ensure continuing payments.

this company as ive read in the past tends to tell the media about a possible sighting before they have investigated it therefore ensuring the possible abductors have a chance to move on and disappear again
