They should eat as much as they want, as often as they want. I breastfed and never measured, so I really don't know how much my daughter took in. At that age, she was nursing about every hour or two, on average.

Honey, it depends on the weight of the baby. I will say this however, most babies eat every 3 to 4 hours a day. Don't forget to give your baby boiled or sterile water to drink once in a while as well. Be careful when giving water to baby as the fluid is not as thick as formula and baby could choke. Sit your baby up more than you would if feeding regular bottle. I hope this has helped. Blessings to you and yours this Holiday Season

At 5 weeks you should be feeding your baby on demand. Anywhere from 2-4 hours is common and 2-4 oz at a time is normal. The baby will let you know when she/he is hungry!
If you're concerned, give your pediatrician's office a call and talk to one of the nurses.

At five weeks they are still probably eating every 1-2 hrs, just feed baby as much as they want, whenever they are acting fussy. Sometimes first time moms may not recognize that fussy baby is hungry AGAIN, so always after checking other things, offer baby milk, even if it's only been 15 mins since they ate.
