No question about it John Bench. But Yogi Berra is the best ever. Both never used steroids .I wonder if Rodriguez can say the same?

Although Mike Piazza is the greatest hitting catcher of all time, Johnny Bench the best player in this group. Rodriquez and Fisk are also clearly in the top 10, but neither man is/was as good as Bench.

1. Johnny Bench
2. Pudge Rodriguez

Defenisvely Pudge, Offensively there's no comparison to Mike Piazza. If you wanted the hitter and the defense then that goes to Pudge.

Mike Piazza is the best catcher of all time. I am not saying this just because of him leading catchers with homers, or the fact that i am a mets fan. Piazza was rookie of the year, all star game MVP, has hit 2 all star game homers, led the mets to the world series in 2000 with the most homers and rbi's on the team, and had a lifetime average of .326 before his injuries began. Before he got injured, he was the best. Even after several injuries, missing over half of 3 seasons since 2001, he still managed to hit over 400 homers and be elected for the all star team 12 times, 11 of them starting. First ballot hall of fame, best catcher.

Pudge Rodriguez
I would think that 13 Gold Gloves, 1 Silver Slugger, American League Most Valuable Player, and the NLCS Most Valuable Player(2003) propels Pudge over the rest.

Rodriguez or Bench if you're talking all-around abilities but maybe Piazza is the best given he is clearly the greatest hitting catcher of all time.

I still go with Johnny Bench. I have been an avid fan of his for 32 years. He is the best! Second would definitely be Pudge.
