I have an issue. My family and a few of my friends are not very encouraging or accepting of the fact that I may be getting married. Would it be best for me to hide it from them or should I tell them.

Do they not approve of your fiance or do they not approve of marriages in general? I would be straight up about the whole thing. If they don't like it, that's their problem. No need to hide anything! You'll soon find out who your real friends are.

Of course tell them, if you don't that will just be more hassles later on down the line. You're the only one that can live your life.
BUT! There must be some reason that both friends and family have some doubts. Just make sure that you don't rush into anything, and that you are totally positive about the situation.
You can still be in love and be together without getting married...there's always time for the marriage thing.

You can't make anyone accept anything they don't want to, no matter what you do. There has to be a reason y they don't care to accept your marriage and you may want to consider why before you make such a huge life changing decision.

why are they NOT accepting? is ur age, or do they not like ur ur g/f?? family and friends i hate to say it are usually right ON when it comes to matters of the heart...
i wish i listened to my family and friends would have saves me awhole lot of heartache not to mention a divorce...

If they cannot be acceptive if this, don't tell them anything. If they find out and start in, tell them and that's one reason why you refuse to tell them anything about yourself.

Tell them. But don't include them in any plannings. Just invite them to the wedding.

its not fair to your spouse to not tell people. if your friends and family dont accept it, then thats your problem

are thy p*ssed b/c you're getting married or b/c of who you're marrying? maybe they see something you can't.
