2x² - 5x - 3 = 0

x = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)]/2a

x = [-5 ± √(5² - 4(2)(-3))]/2(2)

x = [-5 ± √(25 + 24)]/4

x = [-5 ± √(49)]/4

x = (-5 ± 7)/4

x1 = 2/4

x1 = 1/2

x2 = -12/4

x2 = -3

x² - 9x = 0

x(x-9) = 0

x = 0 or x - 9 =0

x = 0 or x = 9

(2x+1)(x-3)=0
x=-1/2 or 3

x^2-9x=0
x(x-9)=0
x=0 or 9
