..What COMPONENT in beer do slugs favor? I do not know...ex. grain alcohol, brewers yeast? what is it that they like IN THE beer(I already know they like beer)

I wouldn't know but I suggest you experiment....
that is the point of a science project.....

isolate the different components and see if they are attracted to them individually

also see which they are attracted to when exposed to all the isolated components at once

The sugar. Beer is very rich with compounds (like carbs) slugs would be breaking down into sugars ( in order to live ) if they hadn't been killed by the alcohol.
