Kingdom Hearts 1 ps2 help?

My friend just got into Kingdom Hearts. He is obviously bad at videogames because he's stuck in the beginning and it's not even a new game! lol Anyway, he said something like.. it's really dark and there are these shadow things everywhere. It's after he found some stuff for a boat, and the guy goes outside because of a storm or something like that? He said they like go into the ground or something because when he trys to hit them the disappear. Is there a trick or does his aim just suck. haha

go to where u fought the guy named riku across a small bridge.
a cutscene will happen and ur friend will get the keyblade.
now he can fight the black shadows things(there a type of heartless) than go to the fancy door open it. and go into the cave.He will be in a town call "Traverse town"

The shadows? I don't mean to be like, mean or anything but how do you not be able to hit Shadows? If he can't even do that, I doubt he'll make it very far in the game as Shadows are considered the easiest in the line of Heartless. Well tell him to use lock on It's like R1 and that way you just...hit them. They go into the ground but they come out quickly enough and you just lock on to them and hit them. I think that after this is the Real boss the huge darkside or is it during this battle? I think it comes right after this and then (to save him so trouble) just lock on to the hand and hit it repeatidly.

The Shadow Creatures are called Heartless. Yes some do dissapear but not all of them. All you have to to is hit them with Sora's Keyblade. Not that tough. If you want just get a Guide if you're that lost.

so what he needs to do is, first go to the little island type area across the bridge with the weird shaped tree, then there will be a cutscene and he will get a keyblade...you will be able to fight the shadows much easier with the keyblade, you cannot hit them with a wooden sword. Now he needs to go into the secret place and there will be another cutscene with Kairi (the girl), then he will need to fight this very large heartless.

Man this is like my favorite game EVER! what you have to do is first go out to the little island where that kid with white hair is, his name is Riku. After that you get a new weapon called the Keyblade and you can use that to kill the shadows, which are called Heartless.

I loved that game! It has been forever since I played though and I can't remember exactly, but you will have to go in to one of the caves/tunnels in the hillside to activate another cutscene. I think you are then given a keyblade that lets you actually kill them.

There is a way to target the enemies automatically (blue cross hairs). Make sure he disengages it so it is not automatic (orange cross hairs). If it is engaged, then Sora will end up striking the ground when the enemy goes under. After it is disengaged just have him run around and hit who ever is above ground.

Are you referring to the Nobody's? They tend to appear out of nowhere and they are trying to attack Sora, but Sora really doesn't have much of a weapon. What you have to do is try to make Sora go to Riku and you should be able to start something and and Sora should appear in a different location with different characters (mainly from other Final Fantasy games mixed up).

if ur talkin about when u have the wooden sword u cant hit the heartless u need the keyblade so just run away to the iland were the bridge leads to there u will get the keyblade!!!

his aim just sucks. you can hit them easier by locking them on your target by pressing square or some button. i have that game had it for two years i am already at the different disney places tell him if he ever passes tht level to watch out for the cheetah in tarzans world.
