Because we are in a spoiled society. Our world is becoming more and more abundant with options in many factors-especially technological. Due to the fact that many people want what they don't have, people will assume that if they have it both ways, then it would satisfy their own material and selfish desires, therefore provoking a temporary feeling of satisfaction for the person.

Because people spend most of their time going after a dream and when they get it, it doesn't live up to their expectations so they have this urge to find something else, while still attaching to that dream that they can't seem to shake from, even though it began all in their mind. An example is a girl who finally gets the guy she's liked for years. She used to daydream about him all the time and finally he's there, really with her and it's nothing like what she dreamt. Somewhere down the line she comes across a guy who in reality is all those things but on the surface doesn't look like the guy she's dreamt about so she's still attached to the idea of the first guy and can't quite let him go yet she also wants the other guy. Maybe that was a bad example. This can also apply to careers and majors in college. I tried:) In the end I just think people want the total package, but they end up struggling to let go of something they once thought had it all and then they're stuck with both ways, sometimes more.

Not everyone wants it both ways. Some people want it this way, while others want it that way, hence the conflict.

I don't know, but mind you .... i love to have it both ways.
I guess however it's because life is short, and people want things so bad cause u can't get it when you're dead.
That explains it, yeaaaah!!!!

Do you mean have their cake and eat it too? Because they do not wish to commit to one way or the other; to do so would mean they could not change their minds with every "relative" situatation that presents itself.
