He won the required number of electoral votes and after recount after recount he still came out ahead. Gore conceded the election, yet there are still people out there who say he isn't president. By what criteria does one become president then?

To some people the definition of the truth is a lie that has been recirculated enough times. The ones in denial are simply trying to recirculate it enough to make it true to them.

Because Florida's electoral votes were taken from Gore and then "recounted" when it was obvious the remaining states would be won by him causing him to win.

Sounds a bit suspicious to me. And the fact that Bushs brother was the governor of Florida.

But oh well... we dont have much longer.

Because the Supreme Court stopped the recount. Bush is President, appointed by the Court in 2000, reelected in 2004 though there were a lot of irregularities in Ohio that were never investigated appropriately.

Let it go. The recount still excluded thousands of valid Gore votes. What do you expect when the republicans hired by his brother were the ones doing the counting. You dont have to be smarter than a fifth grader to get that.

But thats history. Your guy got in, did a horrible job, and now hes on his way out. NEXT!

Give the people a little credit. Gore won the popular vote. The electoral vote came down to the vote in Florida, where thousands of Democratic votes were disallowed by Republican officials. Yes, the Supreme Court upheld their decision on narrow procedural grounds, but it was not a proud day for American Democracy, nor was it an auspicious beginning for a president who has continued to show little regard for truth and decency..

There just mad cause bush is running our country into the ground. He put us in a war that was wrong. He is spending our money on broken policies. And he did nothing to help our country. What happened to our border or Social security?

I could say something, but it wouldn't be nice, so I won't say anything at all.

I'll say this, though, yes he did win fair and square, despite what those people will say or think. Life isn't about what people say or think about you...it's what YOU make of it! If we all lived according to what "they" say, we would all be isolated, depressed FREAKS!

I said it anyway. :-) :-) !!!

Obviously he won legally, theres no question there. But did it seem right, not really. Why bother to vote if your vote doesn't matter?
