Nice people, the Germans! To think that I was once one of them too! No, Hitler took away our nationality long ago. In fact, Germans and Jews are the greatest enemies I the world.”

She's saying that she's no longer a German since Hitler decided the Jews were inferior and stole that part of their identity. However back in the day there wasn't a distintion between the two, everyone was German together. Now Hitler has decided they have to hate each other.

I'm certain someone has a better interpretation than myself. Quite frankly I find it confusing. Jews are the only people that are referred to first as the country they came from.
Example: Anne Frank was a German Jew in other words she was a Jew from the country of Germany. Other examples would be French Jew, American Jew, Russian Jew. When they return to Israel or they are born there they become Israelis. So maybe she meant she used to be the German/Jew and now she was just a Jew because,********( Hitler took
away her identity and
her homeland. Now she
was forced in obscurity.)************
