Hi Guys, I am 10 weeks 5 days pregnant (yipeee). I have really weird pains and am wondering if anyone else has them.
It feels like nerve pains. Right on my pubic bone and also in the crease of my groin. Sometimes it sort of radiates down the inside of my thigh.
Is this something I should be worried about?
Thanks for your advice.

I had similar pains during my pregnancy, but it was during the last trimester that they started occuring. The sharp pains in my pubic bone and pelvis were excruciating, but my doc told me that it can occur in some pregnant women because the body releases a hormone that relaxes the pelvic muscles and ligaments, in preparation for childbirth, and this relaxation can become painful if the pelvic bones spread too far apart or become missaligned.

According to information I read, the severe form of this problem, called 'symphysis pubis dysfunction' or SPD, usually occurs at the second trimester, but it can come on at anytime during the pregnancy. I hope that you're not experiencing symptoms of this disorder, especially not this early, because it was absolute hell to bear... I got to the point that I could barely walk because it hurt so bad!

I would do some internet searching on the subject, then talk with your doctor about possible ways to ease the discomfort, if you think your symptoms might correlate with those of SPD.

Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope you start to feeling better!

It is probably normal, i had the same problems although not until about 4 months along. I had pain in my pelvis that radiated down my legs. Sometimes I couldn't walk it hurt so bad. Someone (not a doctor) told me that it with everything growing it puts pressure on the nerves that go around there creating pain, and until the nerves and things move around and find a comfy place to be it will hurt.on and off probably. I had that problem for a month or so.

It's normal. Mention it to your doctor if you are really worried. But it's most likely your uterus stretching and getting ready to grow. As long as there is no spotting and the pains go away, you are fine. I'm 19 weeks w/ #2.
