The House voted to extend permanently virtually all the major anti-terrorism provisions of the USA Patriot Act after beating back efforts by Democrats and some Republicans to impose new restrictions on the government's power to eavesdrop, conduct secret searches and demand library records.
Welcome to America under the Patriot Act. One person claims to “smell something,” and the Feds can round up records on anyone or everyone. From books you check out to credit card purchases, money transfers to medications, your activities are now subject (suspect) to federal surveillance. Uncle Sam now has a blank check to search and pry—all in the name of security.
Ron Paul is a Republican and he voted against the Patriot Act. Ron Paul has pledged to get rid of the Patriot Act and the national ID card. He has stated we are building 14 determinant bases, so it’s obvious the “we” have no intention of leaving Iraq .

if you have nothing to hide, why are you worried?!?
In today's age, I want to know who is talking to people who may want to hurt me, who is transferring/withdrawing an obscene amount of money in one transaction . . . Because these things go on and because of our military, I am living freely.

because they think a SUSPECTED terrorist has forfeited there HUMAN RIGHTS, it doesn't work like that people. if you are human you have human rights. this is turning America into a fascist state on the pretext of protecting you from terror.
