Ya after working in the lumber department for over 2 years at one store I transferred back home to another store after finishing school and their idiot HR manager puts me at the service desk which I know nothing about but i know everything about the lumber department. And that HR manager got fired 2 days after I started at this store. Now I've been complaining left and right to these moron managers and they claim they can't fit the measily 15 hours or less I work into the lumber department and insist I learn the service desk department I know nothing about. What corporate number is it that i call to inquire about this and get it corrected? Because I know Corporate would have me put in lumber immediately. Thanks.

Umm to the first reply.....FYI I'm 25 years old and have an associate's degree. I only work PT for them for the benefits and Tuition reimbursement while I get my bachelor's degree. And Yes they do need my experience and expertise in that department. They are only wasting resources and time training to learn something all over that I have no interest in. They have less employees and man-hours in the lumber department at this store than my other store and my other store was smaller than this one!!!! Now equate all of that and then feel free to apologize. You're about as bright as these sorry excuses for management I'm having to put up with. I've worked for the HD longer than most of these managers have and I know how stores are efficiently ran.

Go over your managers head, that will be a good career move. You will be in Lumber for about a day.

You don't say what you're studying in college but from the sound of it, you have a rude awakening coming after you earn your degree. Thinking you know more than everyone else is kind of a dangerous attitude. When you go for a job interview in your chosen field, make sure you tell them all about this outrageous injustice you suffered at the hands of moron Home Depot managers, and see where it gets you.

Why not take the opportunity to learn the service desk job? Knowing all about 2 different departments will make you a more valuable and respected employee.

Find out the ph. number of the area supervisor, give him a call and set up an appointment with him. Understand, this can work both ways. If he sides with the mgr. you are in deep doo doo.
