Have your periods changed in your 40's and in what way?
Also...I'm ttc naturally, have you ever had unusually enlarged breasts associated with your period, not pregnancy? None of my bras fit and my weight hasnt changed.

Thanks for all of the great answers..my FSH is still decent, I've actually lost weight throughout my waist, hips and thighs and the bb's are perkier...I'm not complaining! My Dr. sent me home 11/20 with good CM to go do the deed, which we did...I guess I'm hopeful

Women often enter perimenopause http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/perimenopause/DS00554 in their 40's. Perimenopause is accompanied by menstrual irregularities. Some women have longer periods; some have shorter periods. Some have heavier periods; some have lighter periods. Myself? At age 42 I began to have exceptionally heavy I'm-bleeding-to-death periods. My physician did a FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) blood test and diagnosed perimenopause. Now at age 46 I have 2-3 light periods a year. Therefore I'm still in perimenopause.

If you are TTC over 40, you may want to speak to your gynecologist/obstetrician. Pregnancy after age 40 can pose risks to the mother's health and holds an increased risk of birth defects.

You don't mention whether your bras don't fit in the cup size, or in the diameter (around your chest). If you're entering perimenopause, your fluctuating hormones can cause nasty weight shifts. I.e., to your abdomen and around your upper trunk.

If you're concerned your age is affecting your hormones, you may want to see your physician for an FSH.

I don't know what "ttc" is, but yeah, as I've gotten older, my breasts get HUGE about a week before my period. I'm 50 now, and still the same weight I was in my 20s (127 pounds) and I've always had relatively small breasts (34B), but in the past year or so my bra size has gone up to a full C.

Heh...I could have used these puppies when I was younger! What do I do with 'em now?! (lol)

Also, my periods have gotten a lot lighter, and they only last three days now (they used to last 5-7). They're still pretty regular though.

I'm 42, in the last couple of months I've seen some changes. In the past I've not had too many problems with PMS, but lately I'm experiencing more pronounced PMS symptoms. I've had some spotting between periods, and I've never had that before and while so far my periods are still regular, I've had them last an extra day. Other than unusually tender breasts, I haven't had my breasts increase in size. as for sex drive, good lord, some days it's all I can think about!, you'd think I was a teenage boy!

My aunt on the other hand, said when she was going through menopause, that when she gained weight, she would put it on in her chest first.

yes my periods have changed and not the way I had hoped. I use to be like clock work and then started having them every two weeks or whenever it decided! I thought you stopped having them when you went into menopause. what a disappointment! the enlarged breasts I wish I had that problem but no that has never happened to me.

Yes, I am 50 now but I started to go through the change in my late 30's. I also get swollen breast that are very tender right before my peroid and during it. My bras get very tight. However it goes down right after. If you are having swollen breasts that don't go down you should see you doctor. I am unfamilar with that. I also have gotten nausea with my peroids too. and having hair growth on my chin.

I've missed a few periods, having a LOT of hot flashes, not interested in sex any more....diagnosed with perimenopause. But breast changes? Nope. You may want to see a doctor to rule out any serious problems. Good luck!
