I graduated about a year ago with a BA in Media Arts with an emphasis in sound and I cannot for the life of me find something in my field. I currently work in sales and have been avidly applying for and interviewing for parttime gigs and audio related jobs but nothing like what I really want...to work in film. What else can I do?

well you'll probably have to go there to talk to people
but you have to get noticed first.

hell there's lots of movies filmed all over the US. try to become a extra. more you do, the more they'll notice.

or become a theatre actor.

Hell Tommy Lee Jones doesnt even live in LA. he has a ranch in Texas (where he's always lived) and commutes when needed.

L.A. isn't your only choice, only the most well known. Check out Vancouver. I don't know about now, but it was the place to make TV shows and movies at one time. Cheaper and more types of landscapes in a smaller area. X-Files and several smaller shows, like Highlander and The Sentinel, were filmed there.
