Why does society resent athletes who jump from team to team or athletes that turn down $10 million a year in order to have $15 million a year?

Not even a little. They play because it is a business, and they should follow the money. Their careers are relatively short, and they need to make as much as they can.

Professional sports is business. It is certainly business for the team owners. If the player can get a better deal elsewhere and that player's current team cannot beat or match that deal, then the player should take the better deal.

Definately not. Why would you have to stay? The whole point of a draft is to give different players and teams new opportunities.

I will answer your question with one word: NO! Atheletes do NOT have any obligation to stay with the team that drafted them. They generally switch from team to team for "business" reasons. They're human, & thus, we can't fault them for making the decision they feel is best for them & their families.

The answer is NO. Do you have a moral obligation to your first employer?
Your employer be it a sports team or whatever can get rid of you if it so desires, so why can't you do the same?
