We've all been there. Be it with our girlfriends, or with the family - there it was, the scene of all scenes to put a lump the size of a melon in your throat. Its dark, and luckily she/your family aren't noticing you acting like a cry baby. You on the other hand are begging not to be to spoken to in the fear that you may end up whimpering out gibberish. Your eyes feel heavy, youre holding back them tears. Your chest is tightening up too, no youre not having a heart attack but can you blame yourself? Simba's dad just died... * reaches out for handkerchief *

The scene in 'Terms Of Endearment' when Debra Winger dies and then Shirley MacLaine starts sobbing saying that she was stupid thinking it would be a relief. Very sad scene in a well done film.

The scene near the end of "The Joy Luck Club" where the girl is talking to her father after her mother has passed away. Another? The scene in "Flags of Our Fathers" where the guy is talking to his father in a hospital room just before he dies.

I guess I am a bit older then you guys. Have any of you seen "Old Yeller"? Could you go out and shoot your dog?
Another film that that brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye is "Brian's Song "(1971) (TV).
When Gale Sayers tells the team that Brian Piccolo has cancer. When he says "I love Brian Piccolo" It brings me to tears.
