Well, I keep a coin (from different countries) and bill (different versions of the same bills included) collection, some rock collections, some kind of seed collection (in different sizes), and some bottles of flower stems that are molding but I don't want to throw away. Most girls collect jewelry. My dad collects flashdrives (both external and internal). I have a collection of sealed jelly bellies and some pictures from magazines, books, or other people's photos. You could collect pets if you feel up to taking care of them. There's also sand-which you could dye with color dye later. Most people collect posters, but I prefer art or copies or prints of art. I thought about collectin stamps-you could do that. I think having a library in your own room classifies as a collection, so you could do that too. Some people collect stuffed animals too, or snowglobes, dolls or birdhouses. I keep a collection of tickets I get from shows I go to or places which I stick to my wall. You can also collect bottles in different colors and shapes. I hope you find something you're interested in, because that's the only thing that matters. If you're not interested in anything I listed, you should think about things that have significant value to you.

Try coin collecting. It doesn't have to cost you a lot. You can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination you like) for exactly face value. A box of pennies is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of quarters or half dollars are $500. You don't have to buy the whole box. The bank can pull out whatever amount you like.
Once you get a box, you can go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). You can pick up a coin album and try to fill all the holes (get one for each year) or just search for interesting ones.
The coins that you don't want can be returned to the bank and put straight back into your account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that you don't search the same coins over and over). Everything you find will have been obtained at face value. You'd be surprised what people have found. Check out these links to see:

Also check your change for interesting finds.
Some things to search for: wheat pennies, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, coins with the "S" mintmark - it could be a proof coin etc. There's always the chance that you could find a real treasure!
It's also helpful to buy a red book. It can help you price your coins and will answer many of the questions you may have.
OR IF THAT'S NOT FOR YOU...

I collect seashells of places I've been then make shadowboxes. It's a great way to display your collection and remember your vacations. I also collect refrigerator magnets. Once I have enough I plan to display them in an interesting way in the kitchen, perhaps on a magnetic picture frame or something.
Books are always a great idea too, collect the classics. Your children will thank you.
Hope this helps.

I tried to come up with something to collect once and I chose bells. However, I soon grew tired of them. The reason I've found is that you really don't choose to collect something, something chooses you. One day I realized that I had amassed a sizeable collection of angels from all over the world. I didn't set out to collect them, but people had given me angels and then I'd find an interesting one while traveling and buy it. So, while I set out to collect bells, I ended up collecting angels. Think about what you already have and what you really enjoy. Then forget about it...chances are you'll end up collecting something without even realizing it.

Paychecks are often a good thing to collect.
Stocks.
Savings Bonds
They're good too.
If you want things to collect, I guess sports cards or something like that is still good money in the long run, but you really should only collect something if you can totally devote a ton of time and effort to it and if you're willing to learn all you can about that hobby. I find collecting things to be tedious and it eats up space and I'm forced to move it to clean. Not worth my effort, but everyone's different, I guess.

My little girl is starting a bottle cap collection, and since they are so small they won't take up nearly as much room as my many cookbooks or my husband's little dragon statues.
Also, you can find a variety of bottle caps, or anything remotely collectible, on eBay. There's an entire section called "collectibles." Why not take a look around there and see what strikes your fancy?

My niece collects snowglobes. It's a good thing to collect because they usually have a snowglobe at any souvenier store when you're on vacations.
My Grandpa also collected those singing toy things... I don't know what they are called, but you push a button and the thing starts moving and singing. Those are fun if you don't have little kids to push them every 3 minutes.

Dear Suedette,
You are absolutely amazing!!. Did you know that?. Sometimes, you ask the hatdest questions under the sun?,other times you ask like the above query.
I think you must be brilliantly brainy. Most of the time I am "Pure struggling", to think of answers to your questions. Other times I am not.
I am sorry I cant answers a lot of your questions, you would think at sixty six, I would be able to answer "Every Question In the world"? (I that will be right) (smile).!!.
What I am really trying to say?, Is, and taking a million words to say It. I am proud to have you aboard as one of my contacts.
May I suggest that you make me "STUFF"?, to collect?. Trouble with that Idea, thers only "One of Me"?. Just as well, I can here you saying.
LOL,
Tom777.

I collect jugs, glass, ceramic, china, milk, measure, chipped, old, new, quirky, anything that grabs my eye.
I also collect bookmarks, and I use them
I collect frogs, green tree frogs, real and fake
I collect craft magazines, fabrics and sewing notions (I will use them all up one day, honest)
I also collect a lot of dust, so remember whatever you collect, you have to keep them sparkling clean, dust free, and safe from kids and cats if they're breakable.
If you have a collection, you will want to show it off some time, so keep it neat, have appropriate storage and show it off from time to time
