my dad bought me a mouse when i was in 3rd grade and it fed it only american cheese slices and it died in a week, it ate the cheese tho

They will eat cheese, but not because it is cheese. In fact, mice like fat. So butter is more likely to attract them than cheese!

They prefer fish and smokey bacon. I've caught plenty in traps using these tasty morsels.

could be a myth,the ones we had prefered cereals and sauasges not any old sausage mind but good old Lincolnshire ones.
