It was working great just a couple days ago; I think I might have knocked the needle a bit, but I really don't know anything about record players. Any ideas on possible problems/solutions would be really really appreciated.

what kind is it? are you just playing normal records (i.e. your not djing or scratching?)

If you haven't replaced the stylus in a while (the very tip of the needle) then it might be dirty or need to be replaced... eventually you have to buy a whole new cartridge (the part that is connected to the stylus.)

if this doesn't help, it might be the turntable... you can buy a new one for pretty cheap check out sam ash or guitar center ...

also if your thinking about converting your vinyl they have USB turntables now that will connect right to your computer to record...

Hi. If the Turntable platter is not revolving at the correct speed (slows down and speeds up) it sounds like the motor is playing up.
Are you a serious listener of vinyl records.? You can get brand new Turntables fitted with the latest cartridges for a couple of hundred bucks.
