I personally think it is wrong to impair your decision in any manner but then your chances that you will die or kill someone while driving increases. What is your opinion?

Um no. Do you not remember Prohibition? Lots of people got really rich by smuggling alcohol illegally (Kennedys), and everyone still drank ANYWAY.

Very interesting topic. I wonder how many people realize that in 2004, the last I was able to find stats for, there were about the same number of people killed in alcohol related traffic deaths as were intentionally killed by gunfire. I don't think an all out ban is the answer, but I think there needs to be a lot more restrictions, especially concerning advertising, and much harsher punishments for DUI's. I know people who have had 3 or more and never spent a minute in jail. That is unacceptable.

No, we tried that once it didn't work.
Personally, I think we should allow people the freedom to drink, but impose sever penalties for the consequence of that decision. For example: if you get caught drinking and driving, you should loose your license for life. If you kill someone while drunk, you get put to death. If you beat your spouse, get in a fight, or otherwise hurt another person while drunk, you are banned from alcohol for life.

People that can drink responsibly should not have their freedom taken away. People that can not drink responsibly should have their rights, privileges, or life taken way. Don't punish everyone for the mistakes of a few. Just punish the few very, very harshly.

No. As with most things, alcohol is okay in moderation. It is when people consume too much that it causes problems. I think bars should have breathalizers in them so that people can see if they are above the limit.

The 1920s taught us that Prohibition doesn't work. And besides, we already have laws that deal specifically with driving under the influence.

I think they should, alcohol is a poison. It is also so addictive, and I have seen so many people ruin their lives with it. The problem is money is made off of it, so it probably will never be illegal. But Yes it should be!

If alcohol is legal, marijuana should be too. People don't fight when stoned. Alcohol makes most people act like total idiots, whereas marijuana just mellows people out.

Absolutely.
Then run down the alphabet and ban any other thing that you feel is threatening, unsafe, or unpleasant.
