My boyfriend found that all of his Christmas presents were stolen yesterday. There was no sign of forced entry and the door was locked when he arrived home. The day before he found them missing, apartment workers were replacing his refridgerator. No one but my boyfriend has a key to the apartment, aside from the apartment complex. He called the police and they talked to the apartment complex and filed a report. His renters insurance doesn't cover stolen items. What are his options?

Track down the deadbeat workers and knock them off.

I had a similar situation about 5 years ago. Came home front door was open back door was open. They stole about $3k worth of stuff. Police filled out a report. Apartment complex blamed me saying I hadnt locked the door. Not exactly something you can prove. Then about 3 other apartments had the same thing. Next thing they had an all new maintenance staff. Good luck on this but I think you could be screwed.

"What are his options?" - Get better renters insurance. Keep in contact with the police.

Why is the dog in a closet? They do not belong there. If the dog had been loose then the theft would not have happened. Having a dog in a closet is abuse.
