I had a Comcast guy come to my house to add cable to one of my rooms. The idiot, after cursing at my dog and being an all-around jack***, ended up falling through my porch overhang, making three huge holes in the overhang. The guy's manager came out and told me that it wasn't that hard to fix and that he would have a guy come out and fix for free it if I didn't turn it in to their insurance. I was pissed off and just wanted them away from me, so I agreed. That was in June, and it still hasn't been fixed. I don't want to talk to Comcast, because I don't think I'll ever get through to anyone who could help me, so is there someone else I can talk to or turn it in to so someone will come out and fix my porch? All of my experiences with Comcast have been atrocious, so I'm really trying to go above them to get something done. (I would change cable companies, but it's not my house). Any and all help would be appreciated. Happy holidays!

Sounds like it's time to contact a lawyer. Much as I hate most lawyers, I've found that most of the time, just a letter to the corporate offices of an outfit like Comcast, on an attorney's letterhead will have very positive results. In all likelihood, the company itself, in other words, anyone who could make something happen, doesn't even know about it. The idiot and his supervisor are probably keeping it a deep dark secret so they won't get their butts in a sling.
I've found many times that going right to the corporate offices with a complaint, especially where you have documented property damage, will shake things up in a hurry.
I'm surprised you've been so patient...I'd have given them a week, tops...K ;o)

contact Comcast right away despite the fact that you do not want to talk to them. They WILL help you. Ask to speak with a customer service rep and tell them thatt you want to escalate the problem in order to have it fixed. Reference the name of the supervisor who you spoke with. Chances are you have a Comcast contractor and NOT Comcast. Either way CALL TODAY!

Good luck..

You need to tell the owner of the property what happened Immediatly. They are the only ones who can do anything legally. The owners may be able to come back and charge you if you can't prove comcast did it.

Cable SUCKS. Sattelite is the way to go, never a problem with DirectTV. Call Comcast and show them your evil side.

It's NOT your house? You are renting? Turn it over to your landlord! I'm sure they won't do anything if they haven't yet - they have no incentive to help you. I'm sure you could go after them legally if you wanted to. Hopefully a lesson learned.

You could always take them to small claims court. But I don't know if there is a maximum time limit to be able to make the claim.

call the landlord and let him handle it if the house is not yours. If you fail to do that you may have to pay to get it fixed.
