It is not legel to tell you that you miscarried when you didnt. I wouldnt trust this doctor and I would change IMMEDIATLY. it is your choice whether to file suit against him but I would def. NOT allow him to continue your care. I had a doctor that i didnt trust and I changed when I was 16 weeks prego. so becareful because there is a drug that can cause m/c and I would hate to see that doc. give you that drug. i had a doc do that to me and I didnt find out till after the fact. So for the sake of your baby get the heck out of there immediatly!

It is not right for a doctor to refuse you but it is not illegal unless you went to the ER/Hospital and ALL the doctors their refused to help you. If you show up in a non emergency situation into an office and ask for care, doctors can and do for a variety of reasons refuse service. This is no different that taking one insurance and not another, they often refuse care to someone with XYZ insurance but not UVW. So in accordance with his belief system he did not want to treat you, he could have politely told you to find another doctor, what he did was rude and un ethical.
I am assuming that the doctor tried to get you to do D&C or vacuum aspiration after saying you had miscarried but the baby was still there, in either case, even if he was right you should go for a second opinion because he seems like an ahole.

I dont think that this is an ethical thing that the doctor did. You should talk to the doctors manager of the office or a patient service person if this was at a big clinic. Nothing like that should ever happen t anyone. Hope everything goes well and good Luck.

Well you can consider yourself a rich woman from this point on my darling. This is a case where you will win, and that's putting it lightly. Get a lawyer and you'll have saved many woman form this recalcitrant as*hole. I am normally against suing doctors, but in a case like this it's a good thing the legal system exists. Good luck to you!

Hell no, thats not right at all. You should definately report him and/or sue. That is horrible and no doctor should have the right to refuse you cause your not married. Even if he does have the right to refuse you, he's still a inconsiderate ***. So just find another doctor that has a more open mind and don't let him worry you.

Well, yes he can refuse his services. Why would you want to use this doctor anyways? Obviously, you would not be getting the best care if you chose him. Look around, I'd like to think there are more doctors out there who realize that not being married does not mean get an abortion. Good luck!

what? he told you, that you miscarried. so then he tried to get you to have an abortion...now ive never had a miscarriage before so i may sound uniformed. but wouldnt you know if you had a miscarriage wouldnt you bleed. he shouldnt refuse you because your not married. but if he feels that way i dont think you should trust him anyway. he sounds like a creep..get a new doc..

I don't think so. You could call your state's medical board - which I would for him suggesting you have an abortion. That was totally unprofessional and inappropriate of him. Obviously, you want another doctor that is not so judgmental.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they can. Like, all shop owners have the right to refuse business. I suppose it's the same with doctors.
That's really arrogant of him and if he judges you that way, you probably shouldn't go to him (obviously).
But be sure to ask the next doctor you go to, and if he says it's not legal, call your lawyer. :D
That first doctor deserves it.

I don't know the legal ramifications, but why would you want him to deliver for you if he has issues with you. He may not do his best if he doesn't care. You would be better off finding a doctor that does not have any problems with you and your situation.
