am not talking about the factory wiring harness i am talking about the wiring harness used to connect the factory wiring and a new stereo? i am trying to connect the 12v switched wire to a remote power supply to my amplifier?

If you look at the factory harness there is a white wire with red stripe that is the switched 12V feed to the audio system. There is a white wire with a green stripe that is a 12V battery feed for clock circuit in the factory audio unit.

if you have an sub-harness with an adaptor to an aftermarket audio head unit then follow that back to where it connects with the factory harness and see what wire lines up with the white/red for the switched line and the white/green for the battery line

hope that answers your question

Generally these after market adapters are color coded the same, and the switched 12v supply wire is blue (dark blue w/ a silver stripe on mine, labeled power antenna lead). At least that's what color mine was in my 00 Civic harness when I connected my amp.

For additional switched power supply (if you need it) you could use a fuse tap, and tap the ACC fuse in the fuse block. Only do this if you run out of other options though. I had to use this method when connecting my CD changer, which also required a switched 12v supply.
