I’m speaking from a romantic point of view, not platonic or familial. I’m just curious what most people think about this. For instance, when I asked this question to a lady friend of mine she said “remember her favorite flower and bring it to her one day, randomly, not because it’s expected,” Ladies if you have any stories from past experience where your husband or boyfriend did something that really stands out in your mind that made you feel uber special or especially loved, please feel free to share your experience. Also, men, if you have a vivid memory of doing something geniune that made her feel special don't hesitate to chime in as well …this should be fun, there is no right or wrong answer. Thanks for your response! : )

Remembering little things she likes, truly listening(not just hearing) to what she has to say. If she is the one who usually cooks the meals then fix her a meal and if you can't cook order her favorites take out. Try getting into to something that she is into but your not but the catch is you want to because it is something she enjoys and you love her. Give her a complete body massage, with oils. Pick a room or the whole house and clean it without being asked. Just taking her wants and needs into consideration and doing something about it. Plan a day of fun, If you live where there is snow go out and build a snowman together. Maybe make snow angels together and have a playful snow ball fight. Then go in and get out of the wet clothes a snuggle up on the couch together and sip some hot chocolate or have a glass of wine and watch one of her favorite movies or a movies that is a favorite of both of you. I actually did the snow day thing and it was a lot of fun and has remained a very special day for me.

For me its anything that shows you couldn't get me off your mind. It could be a card, a dinner, or even just a mid-day phone call at random just to let me know that you love me. Also anything that shows any kind of planning was involved. My experience with men is thay they are last minute creatures, so if he took the time to really plan an evening or a weekend, I would be hooked!

What I remember most from my husband was he bought me a dozen long stem roses and in the center was a rose that had been electrically charged and gold plated. On the card he said " I will love you until the last rose dies ... (I will love you forever!). Yes I know its kinda corny to some people but it made my heart melt.

I feel the most loved when a guy asks me about myself, and really listens to what I have to say. He doesn't have to buy me anything, I think that is one of the most romantic things.

The unexpected gifts are always the best.
If you are thinking extra sweet thoughts about her one day, let her know. Easy stuff like a note or some flowers or something small that you know she's like, etc.

Give her a few compliments each day and remember to say I love you.
Surprise her with gifts for no particular reason.
Do at good deeds for her each day or time you see her.
Be all ears for her because women love men who listen to them and understand.

Be actively interested in her - ask her questions about what is going on in her life, and listen to the answers without trying to 'fix' problems for her - unless she asks.
Be voluntarily affectionate
