My mother and I have been living together for at least 8 or so years. I'm 27 and recently lost my job (currently looking for a new one) so moving isn't really an option till I land a new job. Anyway she just recently had that gastric bypass surgery and landed herself a 27 year old boyfriend (I know same age as me) anyway, they have VERY loud sex. I sleep and live above them and can still hear them perfectly clear. Every time I nicely ask them to keep it down my mother turns it into a power fight and screams at me. Even if I just shut my mouth and turn the tv up to drown them out she screams at me. I tell her it's disgusting to have to listen to them and she basically says "screw you" every time. It's really effecting our relationship and my sleep schedule not to mention it really is uncomfortable to even be around them anymore. I don't know what to do and I'm really asking for help because I'm at my wits end. Please do not comment with "Grow up" or something stupid like that. Thanks.

I'll leave out the obvious. The bottom line is it's NOT your house, I don't care how old or mature you are, it's her house, her rules, you lose. You really do need to move out. Can't you room up with a buddy and split rent? There is ALWAYS a way.

I would take this as a way to motivate me to get on the move with searching for a new job. After all your in her roof so you can't really tell her what to do. She however doesn't have to be that rude so, I would just work on searching very hard to get some jobs, invest in some headphones that actually work and take it from there. I would try not to be home when he and her are together.

Well you are 27 years old and you can live whereever you want. When you are living under someone elses roof you have do deal with their crap even if it is a bit tacky. You should do nothing about mom's behavior....just focus on your own stuff and improve ur own situation.

Move out.

I'm sorry, was that a stupid comment?

Ok, ok, stop drinking so much beer, get a job, then move out.

Is that better?

Good luck.

Tape the noise they make and play it back to her, I bet she'll be a bit quieter after that.
