why cant we play in the same rooms for online games we can play in seperate rooms but thats it how can we play with other people but be in same room? i tried to host a game and it said my internal and external ips r different im totally lost :(

You can both play the same game at the same time from different rooms, but not in the same room?

I'm assuming your going out to an Internet based game server?

What are each of your IP addresses?

Is the D-link thing a router or just an access point?

If your going to an external server, and your d-link thing is a router, I suspect the d-link NAT won't allow multiple devices to use the same destination IP address and port number (IP port number).

you cant have 2 copies of the same internet connection open at the same time or it will think that you are transfering one stufff to another
