Apparently, when you ask "is there a chance", people decide to tell you what they think will happen. There is a very legitimate chance for Georgia to make the championship game. Here are the possible national championship match-ups:

Missouri vs. West Virginia (If neither team loses)
Missouri vs. Ohio State (If West Virginia loses)
West Virginia vs. Ohio State (If Missouri loses)
***Ohio State vs. Georgia (if both teams lose)

***Here is your chance. Now, because Georgia doesn't play another game this year, it may end up hurting them. Virginia Tech and LSU, although two and three spots respectively behind Georgia, are only separated by .05 and .06 BCS average points, which isn't much. A good performance by either team in their games this week and help from the voters could put either team in contention. I believe your biggest threat is LSU (still). They go up against Tennessee this weekend who looks good on paper, but will probably lose by a lot (sorry Tennessee fans...). If WVU and Mizzou both end up losing, and LSU plays considerably well, we may see a repeat of last year: a fight for the #2 spot in the BCS.

As bad as this may sound to you, they have a chance if the top two teams lose AND if LSU lose to Tennessee in the SEC Championship. Do you really think they would let a Georgia team go to the championship over a LSU team who win the conference that Georgia couldn't even get into the championship game and play against. If the pollsters are in the right mind then that will be the outcome. If Georgia play in the NC game and win, then there will be much controversy about how can they be the best team in the nation if they were not the best in their conference and the BCS will probably make a rule where you have to win your conference to play in the title game.

You know, I usually know the polls but this week I do not. That is surprising that Georgia is ahead of both SEC championship contenders of LSU and Tennessee. There is a chance that Georgia will make NCG. All that has to happen is for Oklahoma to beat Mizzou in the Big 12 Championship and for Pitt to upset West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl. What also has to happen is for Tennessee to beat LSU as I believe if LSU wins while the top 2 teams fall, the BCS computers might jump the Tigers over the Bulldogs in the standings and we will have the Ohio State-LSU game just as what was expected. So you would have to cheer for the Vols to beat LSU. This is my personal prediction of things if it were to happen.

Possible as already described above. It is kinda funny that Georgia did not win the SEC Championship but is ranked higher than LSU or Tennessee who are playing for the SEC Championship. It would be even more funny if Georgia plays for the National Championship. Georgia is playing great ball right now and would probably give any team a great game. As a Georgia fan, I would love to see this happen.

You know I have actually got to watch UGA a few times this year and they are a good team. I just don't think there is a scenario where they will go to the BCS game just because people will look at them not even getting into their own conferences championship game. Do I think a team like Missouri, Kansas or even WVU is better. Definitely not but just the way the system is I don't see it happening anyway even if WVU and MIzzo lose this weekend. Great season for UGA though and they have a lot to build on for next year.

As crazy as the season has gone, Yes the Bulldogs could sneak into the Championship game against the Buckeyes. They need West Virgina and Missouri to lose this Saturday.

Well, Folks get use to it, It all happened as planned last night accept for LSU, but they've lost twice also, so tell Les Miles to stop crying! We're in, Georgia that is, so sit back and watch how it's done LSU!!! Can't wait to beat Ohio St. See ya later.

yes there is actually a slim chance.. it would take a WVU loss to Pitt, Mizzou Loss to Oklahoma, LSU Loss to TN and a USC loss vs UCLA; then it would be a media frenzy trying to decide between GA and Kansas "possibly Oklahoma into the mix" as to whom would play Ohio St in the National Championship.. but no worries Georgia is guaranteed a BCS bowl birth with a 10-2 season they will more than likely be headed to the Orange Bowl playing the winner of VT and Boston College

Unfortunately I just don't see there being that chance. But I will say I would love to see a rematch with WVU vs. Georgia. As a WVU fan, I can't even say who would win because both teams are playing so good right now and both coaches are fantastic. Add that to Coach Richt actually respects WVU's speed since it saw it first hand 2 years ago. I would love to see what he would try to do to stop WVU's offensive power as well as what his offense would do to stop WVU's defense. I have some ideas...but I really think that would be the best game for this year. Too bad it won't happen.

Gl to Georgia regardless of what bowl game they go too. I really respect their coach and the way that team has played.

Yup. If WVU loses to Pitt and Mizzu loses to Okla. Then it would be O.S.U. and Georgia. It's probably not gonna happen though. Shoulda beat Tennessee if ya wanted top play for #1!!! Probably going to the Outback bowl or the Cotton Bowl. That's where the SEC #3 go.
