Well my 17 year old son was involved in a accident last year and still has to go for MRI's. I took him this week to one and he was in there no more than 5 minutes and they came out to tell me he was having trouble breathing..i freaked out and they called some people in the building to come give him oxogen.. I am used to MRI's i dont like them i usually close my eyes or take a valium before i go in.but he is so young and i never thought this would happen to him.Any one elts have a similar experience with their kids in the MRI machine??? They tried an open MRI there also and he started to hyperventilate??? Is this scary or what? MRI's are out of the picture for us now..

I don't have any children, and I've never had a MRI, but I am claustrophobic. I hate taking elevators unless they are all glass. I think my claustrophobia developed after an incident I had at a playground years ago.

i had the same problem when i was about 16! i had no idea i was claustrophobic until they slid me in for my mri! they had to bring me out and sedate me to finish! i was also in a car wreck that had left me not able to move my legs, i eventually got all the feeling back but it was very scary!

Taking Valium is not going to solve your problems.
