Just sounds more like ignorance than stupidy or rudeness. A whole lot of immaturity as well. If you're still in school - then that makes sense.
I personally think it doesn't make a lick of difference if it's a man or a woman in office. Other countries have had woman be leaders for years (look at England) but it doesn't mean a woman is necessarily better or worse. Should be "best person" - period.
The guy that made the remarks in your class room will hopefully come to realize all of this as he grows older and matures (or one would hope so - lol)

I am a guy and being 13 and saying this I dont feel guilty, I think woman have a more powerful justice then men and that the kid in your class is way off some men shouldn't be president, maybe the one currently in office, (not saying names) but yes I agree with you that that comment was ridiculous, but taking the soldiers out of Iraq right away, could cause them to come the the USA and that wouldn't be very good would it? but I doubt a woman would do that, even if hilary scares me alittle she's sensible enough

As a former teacher, I respect the student's comment because you should not expect everyone to agree with you on some subjects. He raise his hand and I think you may speak with him after class or give a few minutes of your class period to discuss the topic. I am certain he is not the only one in your class who feels this way or who has a different.
One thing you do want is to encourage independent thinking. If the time is not available, assign the students a written assignment so that your students can see that you acknowledge their opinions.

I don't see why getting everyone out of Iraq is a bad thing. Maybe he's just one of those kids that were taught to be ignorant from birth. I'll bet dimes to dollars that he's not only sexist, but also a racist bigot. Sending people to die for no good reason has nothing to do with strength. It takes real strength to stand up to all the corruption that rules our government and over ride all the dollars invested in the war. Human lives are much more valuable than oil, cause humans can do way more, and will be around alot longer than any of our other natural resources. Next time you see him, please kick him in the gonads

It's sexist. When I was your age, boys in my class said that women couldn't be President because they get their periods and they'd be irrational and "press the button" (start a nuclear war) because they had PMS and were in a bad mood. I'm at least happy that the reasoning has improved a little but that kid in your class is still an idiot. If women aren't strong enough to be President, why was British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher known as the "Iron Lady?"

Just his opinion that's all. Which is not based on any type of facts. He's just generalizing women, like most uneducated people do. He'll see, one day there will be a woman running this country who will be criticized just as much as all other presidents before her. Having a woman president does not necessarily mean things will be better nor will they be worse. We won't know until that individual is actually up there making things happen.
And guilt or no guilt, don't you think ANY reason is a good reason to bring our troops home?

He is terribly misinformed. Who does he think controls this country now. The women who support their husbands. The woman, bears the children, takes care of all the household duties, from cleaning to paying the bills and maintain powerful jobs in the market place. Most women are better at most task than men.
And if men were expected to give birth to the children, the world would have lasted only one generation We appear weaker because we don't develop big muscles but we have great brains.
And he should know that more women infants survive than males because at birth female are stronger than males. And I've made lots of concessions in my return to be nice and not cut him to threads. Ha!

i think that it was funny that this took place in a history class. obviously this guy hasn't been paying to much attention. if he were to open up a history book & really pay attention to what he was reading, he would realize that some of the world's strongest leaders have been women, & not just in politics. this guy doesn't sound like he has had very many positive female role models in his life, or he is just plain old ignorant. it is very unfortunate that many countries do not value the wisdom & compassion that a woman has to offer.

He believes and supports the war. He is a patriot to his country . The U.S.A. His has a point also because we have never had a female president. We really do not know how Hillary will do if she wins.
However, If he made a comment which didn't really have anything to do with what your class were talking about, then he sounds kinda like he does not listen very well.

Um I'm male and think that all wars should be stopped and militaries disbanded.
Regarding the topic, I've met some very strong women and some very aggressive pro-war women.
