Of course. It's got so much good stuff in it. I've got a pretty shot immune system, and my doctor told me to take a prenatal vitamin daily to try to boost it, and I'm not pregnant (nor am I trying to get pregnant).

P. S. as to the iron argument, only people only 50 need to worry about taking vitamins with iron in them. It's can lead to an increased amount of blood clots to the brain in older people, which is why it is left out of senior vitamins. We just learned this in class on Monday. :)

although it is recommended to take while trying to concieve, pregnant and breast feeding it is not recommended for routine vitamins for a reason. Too much iron and folic acid is not good for you when not needed. To much of anything is not good for you. You can overdose on vitamins. If you dont believe me or anyone else talk to your doctor or pharmacists. Actually you should consult with a doctor or pharmicist about vitamins cause different vitamins are diff doses for diff reasons. They can help you decide what you need and dont need to take.

You sure can! I've been taking them for almost a full year now.

They're really good for you and packed with good stuff that you need.

About a month or so after I had started taking prenatal vitamins, my hair got a lot healthier and it grew faster and a little thicker.

Also I went up a bra size OH YEAH.

... I'm not saying that the same things'll happen to everybody, but it can't do any harm, lol.

... Also, that matty guy way up above me, listen: women NEED iron. We lose a lot of it during our periods, and it's actually recommended that we eat more iron-y things during that time. So ha, I win.

I don't see why not. It's just got more vitamins & minerals in there than a regular multivitamin. I took prenatals for several months before I got pregnant and I am still taking them now and my daughter is 4 months old. My mom used to take them all the time because she said they made her hair and nails stronger.

Yes. And some advocate using them for healthier nails and hair, however, you need to be careful what other supplements (if any) you take with it. Some studies show going significantly over the daily recommended dose can do you some harm. It is also possible to die from iron poisoning. Heck, even water can kill you if you drink too much at one time - as one lady's family learned the hard way after she chugged significantly over a gallon as part of a radio contest.

If you unbalance your system, it can be harmful.

you can, but I would go to a multi vitamin. If you are breast feeding, stay on the prenatal vitamins

probably not a good idea as prenatal vitamins are heavily loaded with iron and its not a good idea to do that to your body if it isnt needed.

Yes - and it's a very good idea to do this if you are trying to get pregnant.
You want your body to be as healthy as possible for your future baby.
Good luck

Yes, absolutely. In fact, a lot of doctors recommend taking pnv's before conception. Its a good source of folate and so much more. There is no calcium in it though, so its not complete.
