I do. We are the gentler gender, but we are not the lesser and the entertainment industry portrays us to be. Its not just the things being said about women in general in song lyrics or movies, etc. I think women are also misrepresented by our own kind. There are too many women who dance in skimpy outfits on music videos and pose nearly nude in magazines all to make a dollar. Although it may not be the case, these women are portraying themselves to be brainless and that their body/beauty is their only asset.

Misrepresented, disrespected and more. You can't even ask an honest question on Y!A without a man asking if women and smart can be in the same sentence.
I don't think I can blame just one group or sex for it since a lot of people add to it, but I do take offense when I am just lumped in with it all.

No more than we've allowed ourselves to be. Sad, but true. We wanted equality, but it has come at a high price. The women of today have no respect for themselves, as is evident by the amount of pornography, advertisements, jobs that we are willing to take, ect. Teenage girls where outfits that are no more than a written invitation. There are no moral or values being instilled in them. What was considered shocking just 10/15 years ago is now an accepted fact of life, like eating or breathing. I'm definitely cut from the old cloth. I want to be respected and treated with dignity. I want my husband to be the leader of our family, as God would have him be. To be loved as meant for us to be. While the industry as a whole uses our bodies and sex to sell their products, it is we that have in essence allowed them to do so. It is we as women that will have to change that. The likelihood of that happening will be slim to none if there is not a meeting of the minds.

Yeah :( It's really sad. But the best us as women can d0o right now is prove the media wrong. We are so much more than those women who they try to make skanks out of. A good number of us are very descent and can carry ourselves in a very well respected manner. Keep your head up ladies. Remember we are Queens and we always will be.
And as for Rainbow_76 you give women the type of strength that we need. All women should be just like you. I'm exactly the same way, Ive seen my mom and sister be abused to long for me to keep my mouth shut when ever I feel as if I've been verbally abused. It's ashame that some men can't appreciate a woman who will speak her mind instead they want to give the b**** label. Stay strong girl and God Bless.

it depends on the movie and artists...for example Pink and Christina Aguilera empower women whereas male rape stars call us hoes. But Hollywood as a whole misrepresent women but making a certain image the only way to be...we have anorexia in main part due to that.
to Lisa and Rainbow...Solidarity sisters!! kick ***!!!

Definitely! I'm sick of this "women ain't nothing but trouble!" attitude. The men say that about women, some of them, because they don't like women who speak up for themselves and they don't want to do their 50% in the relationship. Men want to dominate women and won't treat them as their equal romance partner.
There's going to be people on here disagreeing with me, but I cannot allow my man to be my master and lead me. I have to have 50% say in things! I got thoughts and feelings, too. As a woman who gotten abused by a man before, and raped, I cannot do the old school let the man have his way 100% of the time. I cannot let any man I'm with be above me instead of treating me as his equal. I will NOT be his slave. Even when I was abused, I spoke up for myself. And if the guy hit me, I sure the hail defended myself! If he called me a b----, or tell me to "F" myself, I verbally defended myself. Anyone who chooses to thumb down me for making this statement, I'l tell it like it IS! I rather be single the rest of my life than being some guy's slave.
I don't like the fact that it's easier for a woman to get a man if she's scantily clad and model thin than the ones, like me, who like to wear modest clothes and are not model thin. I mean, guys are constantly paying MORE attention to female celebs, porn models, and female platonic friends than their own woman. I tell you the truth, no one should be married or in a relationship if one cannot refrain themselves from paying more attention to other opposite gender members and instead work on being happy with who they picked.
It's so sad we live in a shallow world! What happened to "don't judge a book by its cover?" Myself, if a guy isn't good-looking on the inside, he's not attractive on the outside!
Then, were referred as b----es! I feel like this:If it's ok for a guy to do something, it's ok for us women to do the same thing! And don't call a woman a whore but not the guy. If the woman is a whore, so is the guy!
I feel women are NOT only misrepresented in entertainment business, but in every day life as well! It doesn't help that there are women out there who will allow themselves to be disrespected and don't have pride.
Bless you, Brother! :-)
edit: Liza, since I cannot thank you via private email, I'll thank you on here!
