While I doubt your name would suggest any bias, the fact is that the Yankees won't sell any less tickets without having Arod.

If they didn't have him, they would have Cabrera at what, $18 mil?

The difference between one player and another can be significant, but so can the price.

As long as the Yankees are happy with the contract, they are good.

As long as you, as a yankee and Arod fan, are happy with the contract, you are good.

But why would you want to 'convince' anyone else of that?

It's one guy that has worked through value as he sees them.
I could work through an analysis based on Arod NOT being worth it and could document it.

Those that agree will find the analysis complete, those that won't agree, will find parts that I could have included, but didn't.

Some could be swayed, most wouldn't.

Oh, and NY isn't giving him the money, you are. They are just the go-betweens.

One man's insane calculation in a dark basement doesn't equal good business sense. They wouldn't sell any less tickets without him. They could afford the two highest contracts for the top two pitchers in the league with what they are paying one third basemen. If the improved their pitching staff they would probably win at least 10 more games in the regular season, which would have been equal to a division title last season. They would also be a more dominant team in a playoff series. Another WS title or two would reap incalculable dividends. All teams A-Rod has left were markedly improved immediately after his departure.

A-Rod is being compensated at his market value and you are still going to have the haters that will only believe what they want to believe.

You clearly have a crush on A-Rod or something. The guy isn't worth the money because he DOES NOT perform in October. Period.

He's worth it. Heck, he's the best player going right now. (Oh, but I'm not a hater, I'm a liker.)
