1/4= 3 - (2x-1)/(x+2)
1/4 - 3= - (2x-1)/(x+2)
1/4 - 12/4= - (2x-1)/(x+2)
-11/4 = - (2x-1)/(x+2)
11/4=(2x-1)/(x+2)
11x+22 = 8x-4
3x = -26
x = -26/3

1/4=3-(2x-1)/(x+2)
=>1/4={3(x+2)-(2x-1)}/(x+2)
=>(x+2)/4=3x+6-2x+1
=>(x+2)/4=x+7
=>x+2=4x+28
=>x-4x=28-2
=>-3x=26
=>x=-26/3

1/4 = 3 - (2x-1)/(x + 2)...........multiply thro` by 4(x + 2):

(x + 2) = 12(x + 2) - 4(2x - 1), so

x + 2 = 12x + 24 - 8x + 4, so

-3x = 26, so

x = -26/3.

Hope this helps, Twiggy
