well... around three days ago my interenet just shut off. it was working fine at 1 or 2 in the morning, but now it's just not working. i call my isp and they tell me that i have exceeded my downloading limit (only TEN freaken gigs) and it wont be back up for another month or so due to us going over. i want to know if there's a way around it because my internet speed has been killed 99.9999994% from what i was running before. it's pretty much like i don't have interent at all. and like.. is there a way to configure my setting through my router or any other way that'll get me connected back to the internet? like.. a way to bypass their block on me...

thank you for any help!!

oh, and is there a way to kill certain ports or ip's running off the same router in the same house? i was looking at my router settings and it seemed as if i could, but i didn't want to mess with anything. i would really like to know =D
thank youu!!!

try upgrading to unlimited usage but even then they have a fair usage policy which means you can download anything you want during off peak hours but they dont like you downloading during peak hours 6pm till 11pm

Well, you can set encryption and passwords for blocking Internet usage from other computers connected through the same router as me.

You may want to consider a different Internet service provider.

Dang! I hear yuh! Same happened to us!

What we had was, a friend sent an email with 12 photos, rather large, que no? Sure enough, exceeded our (dialup) provider's size limit for a file! And to beat that, the jerks INSISTED that emails be downloaded IN ORDER OF ARRIVAL! So other, much smaller emails piled up behind this one, day after day.

So I had to logon from elsewhere, get online to the ONLINE email access for this ISP, and purge the photo email, and finally free up all the other emails for download! Grrrrrrr....

The solution for us was, switch providers, ASAP!

1st , how in the world did you exceed 10 gigs. Sounds fishy but if my isp was evil like comcast (as yours is) i would do what everyone else is doing. take them to court.
