MtnHotte,
I REALLY want to kick you in the chode region. Your post are worthless. 1st you dog on a kid for having a walmart board then you suggest he buy a $600 board from your husband? BTW the Burton LUX is a crappy board.

-----------------------------------

How tall are you? How big are your feet? What sort of riding do you do?

Once we know all this we can suggest board sizing that would work for you. From there look on craigslist or ebay for good deals.

I would suggest a 151-154 if you are just looking to do some basic downhill riding. I am 5'7 and when I 1st started really jumping and picking up speed, I rode a 154 Burton Nicola. That was a super big stiff board for me but I loved it. More stable under my feet.

Your shoe size isn't too big so most boards would work for you.

If I were you I would start looking for deals on boards in your price range then ask what the people on here think. Is your range $100? $200 $300???? I can suggest about 10 different boards but they would all be over $300. Start looking and see what is out there in that size range.

Stick with brands like:
Burton, K2, Rome, Rossignal, Solomon, Nitro.....
Names that you have heard of. And like I said, ask questions after you found something that might work for your price range.

What a bargain - "mtnhotte" offers to sell you her used stick for 600 - what a joke!

I've seen internet stores and eBay deals for around $100 if you aren't too particular about the brand or what year the board is - sometimes you can even find a used board with functional bindings for a real deal. Personally, if I was going to buy a used board I would want a quality brand - Ride, K2, Burton, Forum, Gnu, Lib Tech, etc - something that would last.

Good Luck

The board that will work the best for you really depends on more on your weight and what type of riding you are going to do (park or freeride/all mountain). Try this snowboard size calculator - it also gives some really good recommendations on what boards would suit your riding style:

http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm

A rough guess not knowing your weight would be 152cm - maybe a little shorter board with less offset if you are going to be riding in the park.

I would suggest looking for pre-season sales or last year's model clearance sales. Do you have a Sports Authority near you? I have seen nice boards for under $150.

Good Luck

mtnhottie is so dumb. She's probably not even a "mtn hottie" she's probably like...gross. Plus don't listen to her, you're not stupid probably so you wouldnt buy a $600 dollar used board anyways...okay whatever, but anyways

since you have like, wicked big feet, you probably should buy a wider board so that you dont have toe and heel drag, which you said you have. Go to a store near you that sells boards, theyre usually really good with suggetions. You could probably get a pretty deec used one...
