To answer your question simply; yes.

Plump people were considered attractive because during that era, being plump signified you were healthy and wealthy enough to afford to eat on a regular basis. Pale skin was also attractive as it meant you spent most of your time indoors, out of the sun and not performing manual labour all day in the fields. People considered attractive today (hard bodied, model physique) would have been thought peasants, poor, and unattractive.

Hope this helps,
Peace.

They were not fat as we perceive overweight people to be that way today. Back then, women were considered healthy and beautiful if they were plump. A man did not want a scrawny woman he wanted a robust, but still feminine woman. Men also did not want their women to bathe frequently back in the middle ages, they wanted them to have a more earthy, womanly oder. It turned the man on more.

I don't know but women were certainly painted like that by artists such as Titian and Rubens (hence the term "Rubenesque").

Plus size women were considered attractive during that time period because they were thought to be well-fed and being well-fed meant having good health.

Yes, the wealthy were often chubby because of the high calorie and fat banquets which were prepared, and their lack of physical exertion. Being voluptuous was a sign of wealth.
