I clean houses for extra money. One house I clean the lady cleans with me and it takes about 2 hours to clean she gives me $40.00. One house I do once a month and do all of it by myself it takes me usually 21/2 hours to clean and I get $50.00. Depending how big the house. Normally I use the clients cleaning products and vacuum cleaning supplies etc. It will take you longer the first time until you get used to the house. I have read some of the answers changing beds and doing windows would be extra. General cleaning is dusting sweeping floors wet moping and vacuuming. Doing laundry or changing beds would be almost doing a maids job.

Hi there
It depends on the size of course, I would say since you just started, charge $20.00 and hour until you get the feel of how much work it takes and your over head with soft costs. : Vacuums chemicals materials etc. I used to get our home done every two weeks and I paid $40.00. Also depends how many people are occupying the home and how dirty the first look is.
I would suggest becoming and s corporation or an LLC just in case for liability purposes. People can be hard to work with sometimes, they will misplace something and blame you, so you have to charge enough to deal with everything.
good luck

Generally it is figured as an hourly rate. In Calif usually 10.00-15.00 per hour is a good rate my girlfriend charges $20.00 after establishing herself as a good maid. To do a square footage....I was told for a one time visit, and my house is 2800 sq ft, I would have to pay $350.00- 450.00 from Merry Maids quote.
They don't do windows, so this was simple general cleaning. Not a pigstye either...normal dusting, floors, tile floors cleaned, beds changed some laundry, vacuum drapes, cobwebs, vacumming, bathrooms, showers scrubbed etc. Hope that helps.
