First, go to the Social Security office with your marriage license and get your name changed there. They will give you a receipt. From there you will need to go to the DMV and get your drivers licenses changed. Be sure to change your bank account, 401k, last name with your employer, insurance, passport. All but the bank can be done over the phone and with the bank, just wait until you have your new SS card and License and take that to the branch and they will change it for you.

You need to go to the department of motor vehicles and get a new driver's license. Contact the local social security office and get your social security number changed. Call these places and make sure what proof you will need to get it changed. Probably your driver's license, birth certificate and marriage certificate.
As far as the court house, the marriage license goes through them and is legal and automatically changes your name there unless you were married out of state. If you were married out of state, ask them if there is anything else you need to do.
Congratulations!

look it up on line. Or if you don't want to do that then grab your birth certificate, marriage license, social security card, driver's license and go to the social security administration building (I think that is the building...you'd best look that up, it has been a while since I have done it.)...Once they change your SSC records you can then do the same thing with your driver's license.

All you have to do is take your marriage license to the dmv and they will change it on your driver's license. Same for social security and any place else (banks, etc).

Where I live, all I had to do was to bring the marriage certificate to the DMV and the social security office.

Great, I am from Texas too, you have to go to the courthouse and get it changed. Go online probably to your county's website, and see if it's listed there, on where to go once you get married to change your name.
