I will be attending graduate school in the near future and I wanted to know about what I should expect as far as the work and how to balance everyday life and attending school. I am single, no children, and no family so I know that I am ahead of the lot as far as that goes. I know that a lot of people's family life suffers while attending graduate school. Any advice or information that you can offer would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you're working full-time, then only take one or two classes per semester. If you're not working full-time, I still wouldn't recommend taking more than 3 or 4 classes. Also, try to talk with people about the work load in each class and try to schedule a light class with a heavy work load so you can balance it better.
