Why does a transparent edged image have white edges when used in a css file?

Heres the site - if you would like to see what i mean - the white are on the button is actually tranparent but is displaying as white!!!!

"Transparent" bleeds through whatever the color behind it holds (background color of the division or body). So, if your div or body background color is white, then sure enough, your border (edge) color's gonna be white.

If you want nada, then specify, border: 0; or if you want to get heavy duty about it, border: 0 solid #000;
