I wish I had data on how many lefty throwers there are in baseball, because it might make for an easier analysis. I do know that less than 10% of current switch-hitters, and less than 5% historically, throw left-handed.

Most switch-hitters are natural left-handed hitters who throw with their right arm. This does make sense, given that the right arm when batting left-handed would be the more important front arm, giving them power. There just aren't as many natural left-handed, predominantly righty-hitting guys.

because of the right membrane of a left handed thrower programs your hitting to only one side. my friend threw left handed and tried batting switch and ended up breaking his femur. i would not recommend this to any amatuer player.
